Dreamily (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Dreamily app. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access the App.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: Email address and password when you register.
  • Child profile: Child's first name and age (not full name or date of birth).
  • Story preferences: Themes, interests, and story settings you choose.
  • User-generated content: Custom story requests and inputs you provide.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: Stories generated, features used, and session duration.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version.
  • Purchase history: Subscription status and purchase records (processed by Apple).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and personalize your account and child profiles.
  • Generate personalized bedtime stories tailored to your child.
  • Process subscriptions and manage your account.
  • Send essential service communications (e.g., account verification, password reset).
  • Improve the App's features, content quality, and user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. Dreamily is designed to be used by children under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

The only child-related data we collect is a first name and age range, provided voluntarily by the parent or guardian, solely for the purpose of personalizing stories. We do not share this data with third parties for marketing purposes.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us at support@dreamilystories.com and we will delete it promptly.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Supabase: Our backend database and authentication provider.
  • OpenAI: Story text is generated via OpenAI's API. Story prompts (including child name and theme) are sent to OpenAI for processing.
  • Replicate: Story illustrations are generated via Replicate's image generation API.
  • Apple / RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase processing.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@dreamilystories.com. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), JWT-based authentication with cryptographic signature verification, and restricted access to production databases. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured format).

9. Tracking & Advertising

Dreamily does not use third-party advertising SDKs or tracking networks. We do not display advertisements in the App. We do not sell or share your data for advertising purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via the App or email. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
